Free Dental Clinic Treats Low-Income Coloradans Not Covered By Insurance
BRIGHTON, CO - SEPTEMBER 11: Jeff Schudel holds his six-month-old son Noah while awaiting dental care at a free dental clinic on September 11, 2009 in Brighton, Colorado. Schudel was laid off from his job as a carpenter and has no longer has dental insurance. The third annual Colorado Mission of Mercy clinic aims to treat as many as two thousand low-income people during the two-day event. Some 750 volunteers, including almost 150 dentists, donated their time to help uninsured patients in need of dental care. With millions of the recently unemployed having lost dental coverage, organizers expect many more people to come than can be treated during the event. (Photo by John Moore/Getty Images)
